There is a spiritual and psychological difference between every human on earth, but it breaks down as this: A majority, not a huge one, but a mostly insurmountable one, are lovers of Order, organizing, cleaning, creating in a fashion that fits with there mindset, while the smaller group are determinded to function in Chaos. They break down, they destroy, with the idea that stagnatino kills, similar to the idea that man must evolve in every generation or die of his stagnation.
Films like Blade Runner and Strange Days portray worlds that most likely would never exist or were created because the lovers of Order fled the planet, worlds in Chaos where destruction must come to change the stagnant creation of Order often a government or dying society that no longer remembers why it functions.
There is a balance that our worlds must attain, and usually live in for a long period of ime, followed by a short period of instability during which the stagnation is brokenm and new life comes. It is usually a period of death and destruction, but without the death of the old, there can be no new life, better and stronger than what came before.
Death creates allows for life the way the death of a massive tree in a forest fire allows for life of hundreds of new trees, feeding on the compost of the now dead tree, taking its nourishment.
